Has an internal overspeed governor (OSG) as standard equipment- ACORN believes that it is irresponsible to supply a stairlift without this vital safety equipment. This feature immediately stops the unit in the unlikely event of an overspeed descent.
Has comprehensive self-diagnostic system- The stairlift is equipped with smart technology that recognizes and identifies faults and displays a fault code showing the stair lift status.
No expensive wiring necessary- no need for expensive and disruptive alteration to the your home power supply, or for a certified electrician to hook up main power. The unit is plugged into a standard wall outlet!
2 Infrared remote controls - no complicated wiring for the lift call stations. You can call the lift to the top or bottom landing. An excellent feature if there is more than one user in the home!
Swivel seat with locking catch- ensures easy mounting and dismounting from the stair lift. The lift will not operate unless the seat is in the correct riding position.
Folding Seat & Footrest- the stairs remain available for use by others, as the seat, arms and footrest fold easily away when not in use.

Pressure sensitive safety surfaces- these features prevent the lift from colliding with any obstruction on the stairway. These are located around the footrest, and on the top and bottom of the carriage The limit sensors also ensure that the stairlift always stops in the correct position.

ACORN StairLift Accessories
There are a number of accessories available to complement
the ACORN Superglide StairLift. These accessories are
designed and manufactured to provide comfortable, practical
and cost effective solutions for individuals with additional
mobility and physical flexibility difficulties, or sometimes for
more complex stair configurations.

		Sit and Stand Frame This addition allows the user of the stairlift to choose to ascend/descend the stairs in either the usual seated position or to stand on the footrest, while holding onto a special folding steady/security bar for stability. It is ideal for those who may have problems with bending their knees, or where multiple users with different requirements will be using the stairlift.

		Seat Belts Seatbelts are standard on the Acorn stairlift. They are retractable, and have a standard release that makes putting it on and taking it off simple!
		Hinged rail The lower section of the rail folds up and out of the way when not in use, allowing greater access at the foot of the stairs. A good example of the application of a hinged rail is when there is a doorway at or near the foot of the stairs, and where a fixed rail would obstruct the doorway

-Additional Stairlifts Available-
		Perch Model Stairlift Occasionally it is not possible to use the standard ACORN Superglide stairlift. Perhaps this is because the stairs are exceptionally narrow, or because the users legs will not bend enough to allow them to sit down on the stairlift. ACORN have especially developed the Perch model stairlift to overcome this problem. The perch model is easily operated by the remote control system, or alternatively with the wanderlead control which can be positioned for your maximum comfort and ease of operation.

ACORN Outdoor StairLift

The outdoor stairlift has all of the safety and comfort features included with our indoor stairlift, but is designed and manufactured specifically for outdoor use. All metallic components are either made in aluminum, or are oil annealed or zinc plated before powder coating. Plastic components are heat and UV resistant, protecting the stairlift from color fading and ambient heat damage.

The ACORN Superglide Outdoor StairLift is an ideal solution for situations involving any staircase that is exposed to the elements, including garden steps, sun decks, porches, front stoops and garage or basement steps. The outdoor stairlift is very popular with those lucky enough to live in beach homes, as it is well protected from the ravages of salt air. Even in outdoor configuration, the ACORN Superglide StairLift has world renowned ride quality and performance, making it whisper quiet, smooth and stable and very easy to use. Included with the stairlift is a durable plastic cover which will keep off accumulations of leaves and snow.
